How can I help a loved one with hearing loss?

Both the patient’s loved ones as well as the patient needs to adapt to the hearing loss. Here are a few tips to support your loved ones with hearing loss

Get the listener’s attention before speaking to him & Look at the listener when speaking to him

It is important to move closer to the listener when you are speaking to him

Speak clearly, with a normal tone of voice Consider a quiet environment, which is often more comfortable for the person with hearing

Permanent noise-induced hearing loss can be prevented by using the correct hearing protection device

The hearing protection solutions supplied by the Brits Hearing Institute are hand-made by qualified technicians with more than 20 years’ experience.

How does hearing protection work?

The audiologist takes an impression of your ear. This impression will then be used to mold your unique hearing protector. The hearing protector will then fit snugly in your ear canal and allows you to use the telephone or ear muffs without having to remove them.
